  • Are both the agency and caregivers bonded for theft and property damage? Yes
  • Who pays the social security and taxes for employing the caregiver? TLFC
  • Has the caregiver had a thorough background check? Yes, always
  • What type of training has the caregiver had? TLFC provides a wide range of training
  • What if I am unhappy with a caregiver? What if I realize this at 9 p.m. on a weekend? TLFC staff are available 24/7 to answer your questions and resolve any issues.
  • Do I have to sign a contract for care and am I committed to using the agency for a set amount of time? No
  • Does the agency have a fully staffed office? Yes
  • Does the agency have an automated telephone “time card” system to alert supervisors if a caregiver arrives late or leaves early? Yes
  • Is a personalized plan of care created with me during the assessment? Yes
  • Is the care plan reviewed and updated as needed? Yes
  • Does the agency coordinate care with other healthcare services? Yes
  • Do you provide temporary as well as long-term assistance? Yes
  • Does the agency have the capacity to accommodate a full range of home care needs — from light duty companion care to heavy care, including end of life care? Yes
  • What kind of care is provided? Nursing Services, Therapy Services, Nutritional and Dietary Services, Home Health Aide, and Personal Care Aide Services. We also offer Non-medical, Housekeeping, and Companionship Services.
  • Can a shift be split into morning and evening? Yes
  • How soon could your care start? Most time within 24 hours of assessment visit.

  • If I need a ride to a doctor appointment or shopping, is there insurance coverage for that? Yes
  • How are caregivers assigned? Skill matched and availability.
  • Are caregivers available for emergencies and/or on short notice? Yes

  • Are all of your home care workers’ licensed or certified? As required by NY State.
  • Do you require that your employees renew their state licenses (if appropriate), keeping them current? Yes

  • Can a different worker be requested, if there is a problem with the first one? Yes

  • Are all costs and fees listed on a written statement? Yes
  • Do you charge for the initial assessment? The initial consultation is FREE. ¬†If services are decided upon, there will then be a nursing assessment fee.
  • Do you charge any other upfront fees or administration costs? No
  • Do you charge mileage and travel time to and from my home? No
